Quality field for The Wathba Stud Farm Cup at Ferndale
Seven horses have been declared to battle it to the wire in the 12th round of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup to be held at the Ferndale Racecourse, California on Saturday, August 18.
The race will be contested over five furlongs and carries a total purse of $5000 in prize money.
Top weight EC Numero Quest heads the challenge under jockey A. Boag for trainer S. Torok, but Kentucky Bay will pose the immediate threat to the chances of the front runner.
Meanwhile, Limitless, ridden by H. Shelley has an outside chance to strike should the brilliant performer manage to restore his recent form.
The race is held under the umbrella of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival as part of the vision and strategy of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs to promote the Arabian horse and support the small owners and breeders around the world.
According to Abdulla Al Qubaisi, director of Communications at the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival has become a landmark in the racing map of Purebred Arabian horses worldwide.
“We are truly happy to see all these signs of success thanks to the wise vision and farsightedness of HH Sheikh Mansoor,” he said.

“The Wathba Stud Farm Cup is mainly concerned with the support and backing of small owners and breeders,” she added.
The HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival is organized by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and co-ordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in association with Emirates Arabian Horse Society and IFAHR, supported by General Authority for Youth and Sportsand Fegentri with Emirates airlines as the official carrier and sponsored by Invest AD, Al Rashid Investment, Areej Al Ameerat, Mauzan, Al Awani Genera Enterprises, Kabale, the UAE's General Women's Union, the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition2012, Wathba Stud Farm and Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
