Atentaddo VE wins Prix Haras Sahara 14 lenghts ahead of second

Even with the heavy rain that fell before the start of the meeting on October 27,
a great audience of owners, breeders, admirers of the Arabian horse and, of course,
Turfmen who do the day to day of the Jockey Club of São Paulo attended and
gave prestige to the match of the Purebred Arabian

Eight horses of four years and older without winning took part in the Prix Haras Sahara held at the Cidade Jardim Racetrack with a purse of R$ 12,000.00 (6,000 USD). The race is named in honor of the Haras which collaborated on more donations of breeding in terms of fundraising in the Canter Arabic Auction.

The winner of the race was Atentaddo VE; mounted by Waldomiro Blandi and training by José Aranha; who completed the 1200 meters in heavy track with nearly 14 lenghts of difference of second-placed Thunder Rach (Foccus Rach x Talita Rach by Vivaldi Rach, 1:25:511) and BMV Rick (BMV El Dyck x Geisa El Paso SN by Wiatr, 1:29.089) third.

The winner Atentaddo VE (Wonderful Boy x Dahaby NA by Padron's Image) is bred by José Silvestre Viana Egreja and his owner is Nuri Haddad. His next appointment will be on November 10 at GP Arabian Horse National, the same day as the Derby Paulista is done, the most important race of São Paulo calendar after GP São Paulo São Paulo, and the Grand Prix Diana.

Second place in the race and also placed second in the first race (1.100m in sand) on September 30, Thunder Rach showed great determination and opened 22 lenghts from the third BMV Rick.

"Atentaddo VE is evolving and in each training enhances his performance and the tendency is to further improve for the Grand Prix Arabian Horse National on November 10th. Before competing in flat races he competed in endurance races was and was regional and Brazilian in Limited Distance rides and he has all the characteristics to flat races and I'm sure in the next race he will be among the top three," said Haddad.

The group of the match consisted of four males (two Geldings) and four mares. Of these eight animals, four had already competed in the inaugural race, the Arabian Première. The winner of this first match this time did not run and waits for the GP Arabian Horse National.

For Prix Haras Sahara, the Racing Commission distributed the weights according to age and sex as follows: animals of four years carried 57 kg and five years or more 54kg. The males gave 3 kg to the mares.

The horses were a good time in the paddock, which caught the attention of the audience. In path of the Canter presentation, the speaker Roberto Casella stressed the beauty of animals and said: "Really the Arabian horse is very beautiful!” Meanwhile bets were happening and shown the favoritism of Atentaddo VE, which paid R $1.60 against R$ 2.30 against Thunder Rach and Romulus Rach. The general movement of betting came to the optimal amount of R$22,347.00, which showed great approval among the public.

The animals lined up easily on starting gate and dropped for a race which from the beginning was dominated by beautiful Brown Atentaddo VE who took the lead still in the backstretch and gave no confidence to the adversaries crossing the finishing line with 14 lenghts ahead of the second placed, Thunder Rach, that despite this difference to the first, delivered 22 lenghts on the third place, BMV Rick who made a great race in the case of a debut. The time of the race was an excellent 1:22.966 for the 1,200 in heavy track, showing the potential of the Brazilian Arabian horse.
