Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation BREEF concluded the sixth edition of the Late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa Arabian Horses Beauty Show (local production) at Bahrain International Endurance Village on January 25 (Saturday).

The event’s patron, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and BREEF Honorary Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa appreciated the wide participation of local breeders, proving their keenness on working side-by-side with the federation and resulting in the success of national and local competitions.

HH Shaikh Nasser assured that the huge attendance met with BREEF expectations for the show, which is considered one of the most popular equestrian events in Bahrain. He said “Arabian horses beauty shows are unique equestrian events, integrating competition with Arabian beauty and authenticity.”

On their part, the participating owners and breeders expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser and the organising committee for successfully organising the show, which highlights the abilities of local breeders and Bahrain’s wide range of Arabian horses.

Results
Owners Dr. Bashayer Al Sayed, Sayed Hussain and Abdulla Sharafuddin won the first three positions in the four-year and above mares contest.

The best two awards for the best fillies categories went to owners Marbat Al Naseem and Abdulameer Al Jabboory respectively.The best mares contest awards was won by owners Dr. Bashayer Al Sayed and Sayed Hussain.

As for the fillies (3 months to 1 year and three months age category) contest, owners Mahmood Abdulqader, Marbat La’ali Al Bahrain and Hussain Sayed bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.

Owner Marbat Al Naseem won the first two places of the two year fillies category, while owner Muneer Ali was awarded for achieving third place in the same category.

There was no sunset at Bahrain International Endurance Village on January 24, where Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation BREEF held the sixth edition of the late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa Arabian Horses Beauty Show (local production), lighting up the night of the village.

The event witnessed huge turnout, it was organised under the patronage of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and BREEF Honarary Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who assured that the show is an important event that the Federation is annually keen on organising.

HH Shaikh Nasser said “this sport is related to the heritage of our ancestors and is a significant part of Bahrain’s history.”

BREEF Honorary Chairman expressed his pride of the Kingdom’s wide variety of genuine Arabian horse breeds, assuring that the federation is sparing no effort to support local breeders and maintain Bahrain’s good reputation in this field.

HH Shaikh Nasser praised the efforts of the organising committee of the show, which will continue on January 25, he also wished the best for all the participants. 

On his part, BREEF President HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa emphasised that the late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa Arabian Horses Beauty Show carries a precious name for all, being one of the most popular championships for Arabian horses and equestrian enthusiasts.

HH Shaikh Faisal pointed to the importance of organising diversified equestrian championships, which receive good interaction from the audience.

BREEF President honoured the winners of the category of fillies (3 months - 1 year and 3 months). The first, second and third places went to owners Abdulameer Al Jabboory, Ammar Al Tareef and Khalid Yaqoob respectively.

As for the 2 year-old `fillies category, owners Mohammed Abdulla, Jaber Saeed and Sayed Ali bagged the three first spots respectively.

The fifth contest for the 2 year-old `fillies category first position was won by owner Marbat Al Naseem, followed by Marbat La’ali and Hussain Abdulla, who won the second and third place respectively.

The events of the show will conclude with seven contests today including different age groups of fillies and stallions.

HH Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa National Arabian Horse Show
starts tomorrow

Bahrain International Endurance Village will host the late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa National Arabian Horse Show (Local Produce) sixth edition starting Friday, January 24, at 5:30pm and will continue until Saturday the 25th of January.

Organised by Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation BREEF and under the patronage of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and BREEF Honorary Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the event will be supervised by local and international experts in the fields of veterinary, judging and registration, including skilled professionals from Belgium, Morocco, India, Switzerland and Dominican Republic.

The late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa National Arabian Horse Show is a locally-organised contest in accordance to the rules and standards of international Arabian horse organisations such as the Official World Arabian Horse Organisation WAHO in London, European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations ECAHO in Germany and the International Federation for Equestrian sports (Fédération Équestre Internationale, FEI) in Switzerland.

BREEF President “organising the show aims to support, improve and reinforce local horse breeders.”

HH Shaikh Faisal stated that the show is a special event, organised in memory of the late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as highlighting a deep-rooted sport of Bahrain’s heritage. He pointed that the shows organised in the past five years were very successful.

“Members of the organising committee held several meetings recently to discuss the progress of preparations and to ensure the success of the show,” said BREEF President.

He added “BREEF is aiming to support, improve and reinforce local horse breeders, looking forward to encourage them to participate and compete in international Arabian horse shows.”

Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) preparations are ongoing for its upcoming event, The Late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa (photo) 6th National Arabian Horse Show (Local Produce) will be held at Bahrain International Endurance Village at Sakhir on the 24th and 25th of January, 2014.

BREEF announced that participation forms, the event’s categories and programmes could be found on its website http://www.equestrianbahrain.com/show.php?id or through the federation’s Instagram account @BAHRAINNF.

BREEF Board Member and Head of the Organising Committee Dr. Khalid Hassan stated that the committee is sparing no efforts to ensure the success of the event with the support and directives of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President, Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Chairman and BREEF Honorary Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Dr. Hassan said that the show is a unique event, explaining that the late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa was a major fan and supporter of equestrian sports and continuously participated in the various activities organised by the federation.

He added that BREEF headed by its Chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa is keen on annually organising the show. “This sport reflects the authentic heritage of Bahrain, which is known among Arabian countries for its wide range of rare and distinct breeds of Arabian horses,” Dr. Hassan concluded.

The show is open to all registered Arabian Horses  born / foaled in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In the case of a pending registration, decision on eligibility will rest with the Registrar – Royal Arabian Stud of Bahrain.

The competition is divided into the following classes:

1.      Yearling Fillies (foaled between 1/10/2012 & 30/09/2013)

2.      Yearling Colts (foaled between 1/10/2012 & 30/09/2013)

3.      Two Year Old Fillies (foaled between 1/10/2011 & 30/9/2012)

4.      Two Year Old Colts (foaled between 1/10/2011 & 30/9/2012)

5.      Three Year Old Fillies (foaled between 1/10/2010 & 30/9/2011)

6.      Three Year Old Colts (foaled between 1/10/2010 & 30/9/2011)

7.      Mares – 4 years old and up (foaled before 1/10/2010)

8.      Stallions -  4 years old and up (foaled before 1/10/2010)

 Junior Gold, Silver & Bronze Champions Male and Female will be adjudged.

A class will be divided if there are more than 16 entries. The younger entries in the class will be placed in the first division and the older entries in the second division.

The horses will be judged by the 5 aspect 20 Point System. As there are three judges per class, scores will be from a maximum of 300. A maximum of twenty points each from each judge will be awarded for type; head and neck; body and topline; legs and movement. The final score will be the average score from all the judges and will be from a maximum of 100 points. In case of a tie for any position in any class, the score for type will decide the winner and in case of a further tie the points for movement will decide. 

This is not an ECAHO affiliated show, but the European Arab Horse Show Commission (EAHSC) rules for such shows would be followed.

Entries will be accepted only through the Entry Forms. Please deliver your entries in person with the entry fee of BD. 10 per horse, to the BREEF HQ at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, Sakhir.
