UAE officials, IFAHR chief hail World Arabian Racing Conference

The fourth edition of the World Arabian Racing Conference which begins on Thursday at the Centre de Congrès Pierre Baudis in Toulouse has been welcomed by officials who. have highlighted the need for such an annual event .

“The World Arabian Racing Conference, an annual event of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival which is organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), has been one of our most successful endeavours in cementing the place of Purebred Arabian racing at all levels,” said HH Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.

“Conceived by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, this event has grown in stature ever since Abu Dhabi staged the inaugural edition in 2010 and the success story continued in The Hague in 2011 and in Berlin in 2012,” he remarked in his message to the three-day conference.

“We thank HH Sheikh Mansoor and Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood for their support and direction wish the conference and all the participants the very best,” HH Sheikh Sultan said.

HE Mubarak Al Muhairi, Director General, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority said, “The Conference in Toulouse, France starting on June 6, followed by the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup and the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) races on June 9, are events that excite all those concerned with the welfare and progress of the Purebred Arabian race horse.”

“The success of the last three meetings and the huge response that followed augurs well for the sport of Arabian Horse Flat Racing which is a part of the UAE’s heritage and culture.

We are looking forward to another fruitful three-day conference and hope the benefits accrue to Purebred Arabian racing,” he added.

“We at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council feel proud to support the H.H Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival for the fifth successive year, and to support the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference for the fourth successive year as both events are contributing enormously to maintaining the heritage and traditions of the UAE, and are reflecting the great care and support offered to Arabian horses by UAE’s wise leadership,” said HE Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, General Secretary, Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Mr. Sami Jassim Al Boenain, Chairman, International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) hailed the annual event. “The Toulouse conference will be another important stage for further progress of Arabian horse racing. The Conference has brought together hundreds of members from the Arabian racing fraternity who have shared their thoughts, views, ideas and vision to enhance the status of Arabian horse racing.”
“For us at IFAHR, the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference is one of the most important events, and culminating in the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s race events, it is one great big family of Purebred Arabian horse lovers sharing a passion for this noble creature,” the IFAHR chief said.
