UAE leadership paved the way for equestrian success: HE Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi

HE Major General  Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the General Authority for Sports hailed the role of the UAE leadership in helping the country bring laurels in the field of equestrian sport

HE Major General Al Rumaithi made these remarks on the sidelines of Saturday’s HH The President of the UAE Endurance Cup during the first youth workshop organized by the Abu Dhabi Youth Council in partnership with the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival.

“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai is considered a father of equestrian sport and his support and guidance has played a major role in the UAE’s success. HH is a horse lover and follower, and the support he devotes for equestrian sport is a direct reason for the UAE to reach the top ranks in the world,” said HE Major General Al Rumaithi

The President of the General Authority for Sport also praised the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and said that the HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival has spread to 90 countries within a short span of time. “This is evidence enough of the success achieved by the Festival thanks to HH Sheikh Mansoor’s guidance and support for equestrian events and also due to the efforts of the Festival’s Executive  Director Ms. Lara Sawaya, and the entire team,” he added.

HE Abdul Rahman Al Rumaithi, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Youth Council, confirmed that the Council was successful in organizing the first event in the sports world and in endurance sport during the President’s Cup. “In the presence of HE Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, the Abu Dhabi Youth Council has succeeded in attracting a large number of young knights, during which the challenges of young people were presented to the decision-makers who promised to study them. The workshop produced good outputs and most of the issues raised will be implemented in the coming period,” HE Abdul Rahman Al Rumaithi said.

Al-Rumaithi praised the support of HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival and said that since the announcement of the partnership between the Festival and the Council to introduce youth to play a role in the Festival, there has been a good response. He concluded by stressing that the Abu Dhabi Youth Council will always be present with the Festival in all its rounds.

She said the workshop was fruitful and the activities of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival were highlighted and it was another avenue to attract youth to Equestrian sport.”
