Bahraini Al Subai, French teenager Fabre score wins in Fontainebleau endurance

Bahrain’s Ali Abdullah Al Subai and French teenager Alice Fabre emerged victories in the two endurance rides staged under the umbrella of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s ‘In the Year of Zayed’ series in Fontainebleau in Paris, France on Friday, March 30,2018.

Al Subaie won the 160-km (100 mile) ride on Henham Romeo to win the first ride of the Festival’s 100-mile endurance series to mark the 100th birth anniversary of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The Bahraini rider was followed home by Italy’s Daniele Serioli on Up To You Art while Brazil’s Carlos Augusto De Barros on Koheilan Kajla was third.

The Festival’s 100-mile endurance series in the ‘Year of Zayed’ will after this ride stop at the Spanish capital of Madrid.

In the 120-km UAE Women’s Cup, also supported by the Festival, France made a clean sweep of the top three places while Bahrain’s Sheikha Najla Bint Salman Al Khalifa on Valdajir took fourth place.

Leading the French sweep was 18-year-old Alice Fabre who won the ladies ride on Al Baraka De Flauzin. The two other French riders – Gloria Laetitia on Adibou and Julia Montagne on Havana De Bozouls- finished second and third ahead of Bahrain’s Sheikha Najla.

Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, gave away the trophies and hailed the success of the opening event in the 100-mile series in celebration of 100 years of Zayed.
