HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival renews support for Britain’s Women of the Future Awards

One of the world’s largest and most respected Arabian horseracing organisations, the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, has announced its sponsorship of the Women of the Future Awards for the second consecutive year.

Run under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs and supported by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the Festival completes the prestigious roster of supporters as sponsor of the Sport Award, a category which celebrates the rising female stars of British sport and their growing influence and accomplishments.

The Women of the Future (WOF) Awards is an annual awards ceremony in London, UK, which celebrates Britain’s new generation of young influential women across business, media, sport, culture and public service.

Founded in 2006 by Pinky Lilani CBE DL, the WOF programme is a highly-regarded framework of events and projects that support and celebrate the success of young women through the WOF Awards, WOF Summit, WOF Ambassadors and WOF Network.

Recognised as a significant promoter of female sporting excellence through its race series dedicated to encouraging the career development of professional and amateur female jockeys, the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championships, the Women of the Future Awards will remain an integral part of the Festival’s global sponsorship portfolio and British-based activities for 2017.

Commenting on the Festival’s support to the Women of the Future (WOF) Awards, Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) and General Manager of Wathba Stallions said,  “Year-on-year the Festival provides increasing opportunities for young women to shine on the world stage, and we are very proud of our partnership with the Women of the Future Awards which helps us to recognise some of Britain’s most encouraging and influential female talent in Arabian racing and other sports.”

“Training, mentorship and professional guidance is at the heart of the Festival’s raison d'être, and HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan together with HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak are delighted to support the Women of the Future Awards as the UK’s leading advocates for new generation talent.”

“The Festival continues to champion Arabian racing in the UK and we are pleased our sport continues to grow in popularity and status thanks to successful partnerships with organisations like the Women of the Future who share our values and objectives,” Ms. Sawaya said.

Now in its twelfth year, the Women of the Future Awards continues to unearth and recognise the inspirational stars of tomorrow and will again include a selection of female jockey nominees, set to be announced in the coming weeks, who have demonstrated exceptional promise and ability in their young riding careers.

Founder and Chairman of the Women of the Future Awards, Pinky Lilani CBE DL commented, “We are thrilled the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Festival has renewed its sponsorship following a highly successful introduction to our awards ceremony in 2016.

‘Due to the Festival’s involvement we are learning more and more about the incredible achievements of young women in horseracing and the daily challenges they face in this particularly demanding sport. It’s a privilege to have the support of HH Sheikh Mansoor and HH Sheikha Fatima and we look forward to working together on a number of exciting projects as part of the awards programme this year.”
