HH Sheikh Mansoor stall is a huge attraction at ADIHEX

The 15th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition was opened at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ADNEC, Abu Dhabi, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

The exhibition is primarily sponsored by ‘One World, 6 Continents, Abu Dhabi The Capital,’ under the umbrella of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival.

The exhibition is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region in Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers Club and supported by the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festival Committee.

The five-day exhibition held annually is dedicated to equestrian and outdoor hunting activities in the  region with over 600  international, national and local firms, engaged in equestrian activities,  taking part in huge numbers. The exhibition concludes on September 16, 2017.

There will be a designated heritage area to acquaint visitors with the deep-rooted traditions of the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi particular.

The His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Festival is set up on an area of 4000 sq. meters and is designed in the format of a hyper loop and was the cynosure of all eyes thronging the exhibition.

Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, General Manager of Wathba Stallions, Chairperson of the Int’l Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR), said;  ‘we are very happy to state that the exhibition has representation from 88 countries and all major sponsors of the festival have a representation in the venue. ‘

‘This is a big support we can expect from our sponsors which helps us to look at the coming year with greater confidence, as 2018 holds more promises.’ She stated that the concept of using a ‘hyper loop’ was just to prove a point that the Arabian horses will be faster than the ‘hyper loop’ in the coming years.

The first day witnessed representatives from different government departments, equestrian bodies, VIPs, Sheikhs and diplomatic envoys, including the American Ambassador to the UAE.

In the coming days, this high profile event will have many features including horse auction, saluki beauty contest art and photography competitions as well as traditional hunting and equestrian activities.

ADIHEX aims to present Abu Dhabi as the capital of the UAE’s cultural heritage by promoting sustainable hunting and conservation of the environment, highlighting the heritage and cultural traditions of the UAE, and narrating the history of the Emirati people to bring in more exhibitors and visitors year on year, according to the sponsors of the event.

One of the main attractions of the His Highness Festival tent is the raffle draws that are held all through the exhibition days.
