Now in its 15th year, the Abu Dhabi Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) remains one of the country’s most popular annual events, drawing thousands of guests over a five-day period to exhibitor stands which celebrate Abu Dhabi’s culture, history and deep-rooted traditions. 

At this year’s event, which took place between Tuesday 12 to Saturday 16 September, the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Festival once again occupied over 3,000 square foot of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, attracting royal supporters and equestrian enthusiasts keen to develop their knowledge and understanding of one of the world’s most respected Arabian horseracing organisations.

Run under the patronage of the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Festival organisers together with its associate sponsors and partners welcomed guests to stands promoting individual elements of HH Sheikh Mansoor’s global Arabian horseracing initiatives, including endurance racing, flat racing championships, world conferences and annual award ceremonies. 

HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Bin Al Nahyan pictured with Lara Sawaya in front of the Hyperloop, a near-supersonic transport link that is currently under evaluation in the UAE. Studies indicate the train could reach speeds of 500 mph and travel from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes.

Hosted by the Festival’s Executive Director, Lara Sawaya, distinguished visitors including the Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Cabinet Member and Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Council Member of the UAE and Ruler of Ajman, HH Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi and UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi received private tours of the impressive equestrian arena and personal introductions to some of the Festival’s key sponsors and supporters.

In true Festival style guests were treated to an array of activities throughout the week, including live arena performances and the daily mega draw which awarded iPhones, diamond jewellery, exercise equipment and cash prizes of up to AED 2,000.00 to lucky ticket holders. 

Abu Dhabi now turns its attention to hosting the prestigious season finale of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival which takes place at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club on Friday, 10 November 2017.
