Three cars, 57 prizes given away at Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival

HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival’s ‘Zayed and The Horse’ Exhibition a big hit

The ‘Zayed and the Horse’ Exhibition put up by HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival was one of the most popular highlights during the November 19-January 2 at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival.

On the concluding day on Saturday, the HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival held a popular draw through a free raffle during which three 4WD Cars and 57 other prizes were distributed to lucky winners.

The Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival is one of the largest heritage events held in the UAE, and is named in honour of the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in recognition of the pivotal role he played in preserving the UAE’s heritage in particular, while also giving due respect and appreciation to human heritage in general. The main objective of the festival is to honour this great heritage, and to showcase, educationally and recreationally, the richness and diversity of the UAE’s traditions, heritage and culture.

During the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, the ‘Zayed and the Horse’ Exhibition attracted a lot of visitors and was one among the many other events, exhibitions and activities such as the Cultural Oasis, Presidential Camel Exhibition, Arabian Saluki Exhibition, Falcons Exhibition and many other daily events, including Emirati art and folklore shows, fireworks and daily competitions.

The ‘Zayed and the Horse’ Exhibition used the latest interactive technologies to showcase the history of some of the great Arabian horses. These included Sheikh Zayed the First’s horse, Rabdan, and Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s legendary horse - Al Anudd. The exhibition also displayed portraits and pictures of many other champion Purebred Arabian horses leading up to the horses owned by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The Festival’s stand also highlighted all the activities of the Festival and the Festival’s Year Book was hugely in demand by the visitors.

Ms Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR), who conducted the draw along with other officials said, “It has been such a satisfying experience taking part in the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival. Large numbers of people visited our stand and got to know the various activities of the Festival and also got acquainted with the great Arabian horses owned by the UAE leaders.”

Three 4WD cars and 57 prizes were given away with Khalid Al Hammadi winning the first 4WD car which was allocated for persons with special needs. Abdulla Bu Hawar won the keys of the car which was drawn for men and Salha Ali Saeed was the lucky lady winner.

The other 57 prizes included mobile phones, watches and cash.
