Tamooh rallies to victory in Abu Dhabi Wathba Cup

Tamooh S rallied with a late burst under Jose Santiago to win the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s Wathba Stud Farm Cup For Private Owners Only at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club on Sunday, December 20.

Owned by Ali Ebraheem Al Hosani, Tamooh S finished ahead of Naiem under Royston Ffrench in the 1400m handicap which carried a prize fund of Dh 80,000.

Tamooh S appeared to be struggling at halfway, but finished strongly under a determined ride from Santiago to land the spoils for trainer Elise Jeanne.

“She ran on really well in the straight,” said Santiago. “She did well to win.’

Jeanne added: “We had this race in mind for her for a while so it is really nice when a plan pays off.”

Ms Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) and Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director General of ADEC and others gave away the trophies.
