After a successful debut in the Pacific Ocean-bordering American city of Los Angeles, the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival will now cross the Atlantic and stop over for the Swedish leg of the featured twin race programme in Stockholm on September 15.

 

The Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup is the Stockholm Arabian Cup and is Group 3 contest which sees the return of last year’s winner Athlete del Sol under the same winning jockey Fredrik Johansson hoping to score a repeat win.The Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup –Stockholm Arabian Cup (Group 3) race will be run over 1950 metres and some of the top horses will join Athlete del Sol for a slice of the prize fund of Euros 25,000.

 

Going to post in the strong line-up are Athlete del Sol (jockey-Fredrik Johansson); Al Asad (Per-Anders Gråberg); Al Janoob (Manuel Martinez); Matess (Madeleine Smith); UA Bey Shaka (Fabienne De Geer); Sagala Z Regula (Luis Santos); and Pentagon (Oliver Wilson).

 

The HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR race here in Stockholm/Taby will be the last chance for the amateur lady jockeys to win and book their berth in the finale of the championship which culminated in a grand finale in Abu Dhabi in November.

 

The horses and lady jockeys who will figure in this penultimate race of the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR race series are: El Quattro(Danielle Walker); Sanovagan (Hillevi Ljungqvist); SM Wajeeh (Jadey Pietraciewicz); LL Donner (Magdalena Szabla); Maggia (Anna Van den Troost); Daraahem (Marie-Pierre Guy); Neira Royal (Hana Jurankova); Miz Ella (Catherine Walton); Murjaan (Sheila Ahern) and Serouda Du Breuil (Berit Weber).

 

Like Athlete del Sol, the winner of the HH Sheikha Fatima race – Serouda du Breuil will also be back to win again and this time will be under Berit Webber.

 

Ms Lara Sawaya, Director of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival and Head of International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) Ladies said, “In Stockholm we will see the debut of the first ever lady jockey from Belgium in the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR race series. Anna van den Troost, the young jockey from Belgium will be carrying her country’s flag and with every new country being represented in the series reflects the success of initiatives launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.”
